T&T, MTV promote AIDS awareness

EXECUTIVES at the popular cable channel, Music Television (MTV) say they used Trinidad and Tobago as a springboard for creating programmes that can change the way young people feel about HIV/AIDS.

The disclosure was made at a press conference highlighting the television station’s success in the arena at the 18th International AIDS Conference in Vienna Austria yesterday.

Georgia Arnold, senior vice president of social responsibility at MTV said when they produced the three-part television series Tribes, which aired in Trinidad and Tobago last December, they wanted to see what kind of response they would get from viewers…
