LIVE UP! GET REAL Launch- World AIDS Day December 1, 2010
Every year on the 1st December people from around the world join together to commemorate World AIDS Day. This year’s theme ‘Universal Access and Human Rights’, campaigns to make health care a primary and accessible resource to everyone in the fight against HIV and AIDS. It also refers to the action required against HIV stigma and discrimination, which continues to undermine the human rights for everyone, whether they are at risk, living with HIV or affected by the virus.
LIVE UP is celebrating World Aids Day with the launch of the new campaign GET REAL! This new regional public service campaign features some of the Caribbean’s favourite celebrities. They share how they GET REAL! in their personal lives and in the fight against the HIV epidemic.
The GET REAL! celebrities who drive the momentum of the LIVE UP message: love, protect, respect are Barbadian reggae star Buggy Nhakente, Jamaican born reggae artiste Tanya Stephens, Barbadian radio deejay Alex Jordan,Barbadian hype deeJay Verseewild, St. Vincent soca star Skinny Fabulous,Jamaican reggae artiste Etana, Guyanese reggae artiste Timeka Marshall and Trinidad and Tobago soca star Benjai.
